Jack in a Box

Along Bath Road the shops have dressed their windows for Christmas. The Jack in a Box chalkboard announces the enticing sounding 'Tower of Treats'.

I wasn't sure if the tower was these tins of panettone or the stacked up gingerbread houses below.

Gingerbread houses

This display of exquisitely wrapped panettoni caught my eye. I loved the way they were placed one behind another, glowing like giant golden coins.

Panettoni hang like enormous sweets from the ceiling rack.

Blighty!

Cheltenham is the epitome of English tradition and nowhere is this more evident than in 'Blighty'. This shop is situated on Great Norwood Street in The Suffolks area of town. It offers an array of both the traditional and also somewhat quirky takes on 'traditional'. Previous armchair coverings have included the Union Jack and a man's tweed suit, complete with lapels & buttons!. If you look carefully, you can see the reflection of the Georgian building opposite in the mirror.
